President Viktor Yushchenko met with the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly Sergey Mironov, who arrived in Ukraine on a two-day official visit Thursday, the presidential press service told.
The parties widely discussed Ukrainian - Russian bilateral relations, including the Yushchenko - Putin Commission.
As the Ukrainian President stressed, there is great capability in the Ukrainian - Russian relations, particularly, in their scientific- technical and economic spheres. He stated the need to step up settlement of the borderline delimitation-issues and urged to simplification of the borderline crossing procedures. The meeting was attended by Verkhovna Rada Chairman Vladimir Litvin, First Deputy Speaker Adam Martynuk, First Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Ohryzko and Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Viktor Chernomyrdin.
