The prolonged lack of a Ukrainian ambassador to Great Britain has a negative impact on the preparations for the Ukraine-EU summit planned for December 1, a source inside the European Union has said, Interfax-Ukraine reported.
Because of this, the Ukrainian side may fail to reach the solution of the problems and aims it aspires to.
Besides, it is necessary for Ukraine to have the corresponding influence in London, as its advance on the way of European integration greatly depends on the Great Britain's position, which currently holds the presidency of the EU.
As earlier reported, President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko dismissed Ukraine's ambassador to the UK Igor Mitiukov on August 31 2005. Mitiukov had occupied the post since September 12, 2002.
