Borys Tarasyuk Minister of Foreign Affairs reported that Ukraine signed bipartite protocols on mutual access to markets of commodities and services with 36 nations.

Negotiations are nearing completion with the USA, Australia, Kyrgyzstan and Ecuador.

Fourteen amendments to Ukraine's active legislation, including four bills, remain to be passed by the Parliament, some of which are believed to harm interests of certain large industrial groups.

As Prime Minister Yuri Yekhanurov, who visited Brussels last week, commented on Ukraine's drive for joining the WTO, if Ukraine becomes a full-fledged member of that organisation the nation's next step will be to start free trade zone talks with the EU, which will be followed by conclusion of an agreement with the EU on Ukraine's associate member status.
