Russia has not only managed to preserve cooperation with Ukraine in the space sector but also intends to boost it, deputy chief of the Russian Space Agency Nickolay Moiseyev told Ukrinform at a press conference on international cooperation in the space sector in Moscow.

According to Nickolay Moiseyev, Ukrainian companies are full-fledged members of preparations for and launching of spaceships, as they are responsible for provision of important components, lack of which makes flight impossible.

According to Moiseyev, the parties are holding consultations on establishing an authority, which will unite all Russian and Ukrainian space companies. In his opinion, Russian-Ukrainian cooperation should work toward placing spacecraft on orbits and development of new generation satellites.

Moiseyev considers Russian-Ukrainian cooperation as promising. According to him, the partners don't conceal their future plans. The parties passed their scientific programs for the next 10 years to each other.

What concerns a likelihood of a flight by a Ukrainian spaceman on board a Russian spaceship, Moiseev noted that if such an request appears it will definitely be considered.

According to the deputy chief of Russian Space Agency, Russia occupied the first place last year in launches of spacecrafts. He stated his confidence in maintaining the pace. We are not running after quantity. We develop ourselves and maintain our positions on international markets of space technology and space services, Nickolay Moiseyev noted. He also stressed the importance of transnational cooperation in the aerospace sector.
