As NSDC Secretary Anatoly Kinakh told journalists, he has suggested a 15 percent reduction in the NSDC's staff to President Victor Yushchenko.
A draft document to this effect has reached the President, so its approval can be shortly expected.
According to Kinakh, the scheme of the NSDC's restructuring envisages creation of an expert-public council, in which leading experts in various areas will be involved.
Kinakh stated the NSDC's most immediate task as making that body respected by citizens.
Anatoly Kinakh also stated the NSDC's main functions as protection and promotion of Ukraine's national interests, strengthening national security.
