According to the act “On the register of the state property right objects which are not subjected to privatization” passed by Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Odessa Port Plant (OPP) stays to be the enterprise of the state property, Soyuz (Union) party press service reported.
To Soyuz’s opinion, the decision not to include OPP in privatization list prevented the ecological catastrophe in the South Ukraine and Europe. This statement is confirmed by the Ministry for Emergency Control of Ukraine. OPP is an object of high ecological and man-caused danger. That is why the planned partition of the plant would lead to unpredictable consequences for the ecology of the region.
Soyuz party points out that it is its own merit to keep OPP in the state property register. OPP control packet shares made more than $50 million of income in the state budget for the last seven months.
According to Soyuz, the rights of the labor collectives of the plant became protected due to the act.
As a reminder, Soyuz party initiated the protest actions, meetings and the pickets before the Secretariat of the President and the Cabinet in order to prevent the privatization.
