
During the meeting in London, Russian tycoon Berezovsky passed Ukrainian parliamentary delegation the documents concerning the financing Yushchenko’s campaign for the president, Mikhail Pozhivanov the deputy of Ukraine, the member of the delegation reported just after the meeting with Boris Berezovsky.
In response to the journalists’ questions about the details of the meeting, Pozhivanov stated that the meeting with Berezovsky had taken place in the Firm of Attorney of the International Press Center and lasted three hours. “Berezovsky was accompanied by his attorneys. During the meeting we had a cup of coffee and candy,” added Pozhivanov.
“We promised Berezovsky that the results (of the investigation of the passed documents – edit) would be promulgated only by printed publication that is why I cannot say anything now. I say only one thing: Berezovsky answered all our questions. We represented the interests of the different political forces and each of us put questions to Berezovsky. He gave us the irrefragable answers,” stated Pozhivanov.
He also mentioned that in itself the meeting was a sensation. “We agreed not to make any statements till Monday when the official document with the results and the signatures of Berezovsky and his attorneys will have been done. I pledge that we will promulgate without fail the facts collecting by us,” said Pozhivanov.
Besides, Pozhivanov evaded the question what he had asked Berezovsky. “I cannot say it now. Let a little intrigue be…Tomorrow we all (three official members of the Committee) will make an official statement in Borispol airport,” answered Pozhivanov.
“He gave us additional documents – payments orders. I will not say anything else,” said Pozhivanov concerning Berezovsky’s documents passed him to the Committee of Inquiry.
The deputy refused to answer the question about the meeting between Berezovsky, ex-Minister for Emergency Control David Zhvania and the ex-First Assistant of the President of Ukraine Tretyakov.
He also stated that Yulia Timoshenko and possible “murderous assault” on her had not been discussed in the meeting.
