Ukraine is ready for development of strategic partnership with the European Union, Prime Minister Yuri Yekhanurov stated in Brussels by way of speaking at the international conference "Ukraine is Watching in the Future: On the Way of Reforms", Cabinet's press office reported.
As he noted, there are significant prospects for deepening economic cooperation between Ukraine and the EU. In this context, the beginning of the negotiating process with regard to establishment of a free trade zone between Ukraine and the European Union is very important. Proceeding from this goal, the Government plans further moves in cooperation with the EU in the trade - economic sphere.
According to Yekhanurov, simplification of the visa regime is very important for facilitating the relations, too. This first of all concerns students, businessmen, scientists and journalists.
As he stressed, proper implementation of the Ukraine - EU Action plan, with the EU's assistance, will stipulate political and economic reforms in Ukraine. "We offer the European side to launch a dialogue on a new long-term politics, aiming to open EU doors to Ukraine. We need the EU's clear support of the Ukrainian course for European integration", the Ukrainian Premier said.
