Addressing the 5th Ukraine-EU International Economic Forum in Lvov, Victor Yushchenko convincingly said the political crisis was coming to an end after the new government had been formed, President's press office reported.

Explaining his motivation to dismiss the Tymoshenko government, the President cited several economic indexes that had decreased in the past seven months. He particularly pointed out that the NGP rate had fallen from 6.5% in January to -1.6% in September. Yushchenko believes these figures show that economic processes in Ukraine “have turned opposite.”

The Head of State also said import had outbalanced export in the past seven months. Then he added that businessmen had considered customs regulations imposed by the former government to be “non-constructive.” Yushchenko reiterated that the investment rate had decreased by five times, while “PR was replacing the rational economic policy.”
