Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Great Britain to Ukraine Robert Brinkley, who visited the Donetsk region for the third time, met with Donetsk Governor Vadym Chuprun and Donetsk Mayor Alexander Lukianchenko and confirmed that Great Britain keeps considering the region as a perspective region for development of ties between the countries and investment activity.

The official reasons of Mr Brinkley's trip to Donetsk were his participation in a ceremony to decorate students of the Donetsk National University at the Donetsk branch of the British Council and summing up realization of a series of investment projects in agricultural-industrial complex.

Presently, some 36 investment projects with British participation are underway in the Donetsk region. The external trade turnover of goods and services between the region and Great Britain amounted to 61.1 M. USD in 2005's first half with 42 M. USD exports and 19.1 M. USD imports. As compared with the relevant period of 2004, Donetsk region cooperation with Great Britain grew by 94.6 percent.

As Ambassador Brinkley stated, the International Development Department of Great Britain does not intend to limit in existing in the region projects. He unveiled his country's plan to launch a new program of financing environment protection projects in the Donetsk region.
