At a press conference with Prime Minister Yuri Yekhanurov, Victor Yushchenko said the greatest challenge for the newly appointed government was to normalize a dialogue with businesses, which should result in the NGP growth. He stressed that uncivilized and tense relations with entrepreneurs were the reason of negative economic tendencies of the past eight months.

The Head of State assured those present that he would personally listen to experts before making economic decisions. Yushchenko confessed that next week he was going to meet with leading experts: “We need to fully assess all processes of the past eight months.”

Commenting upon the so-called free economic zones, the President said, “This is our debt, and we are now thinking about our response. We think we were not quite polite to many honest investors that had intended to stay and work in the Ukrainian market.”

Yushchenko assured all that this problem would soon be solved after several consultations, President's press office reported.

He also reminded those present the government planned to cut taxes by 2% next year.

“I think we will successfully consult the Rada and these propositions will be put into practice,” noted Yushchenko.
