Verkhovna Rada Chairman Vladimir Litvin met with Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and Minister of Foreign Affairs & European Integration Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic.

As the VR press office informed, Ivo Sanader issued instructions to Ms Grabar Kitarovic to consider the issue of liberalizing the visa regime between Ukraine and Croatia.

In the Prime Minister's opinion, Ukrainian nationals, who are holders of Shengen visas, will be entitled to automatic issuance of Croatian visas at the Croatian Embassy in Ukraine.

As Vladimir Litvin noted, on October 3 and 4 Zagreb will host consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers.

In this connection the Speaker articulated his hope that the consultations will bring about tangible positive results.

As Ivo Sanader noted, the visa regime must be primarily liberalized with regard to Ukrainian entrepreneurs.

In turn, the Ukrainian Speaker reaffirmed Ukraine's bid for integrating with the EU.

According to Vladimir Litvin, in addition to Ukraine's more strenuous effort to this end the nation needs the EU's more clear-cut encouraging signals. Litvin also reaffirmed Ukraine's bid for joining the WTO.

In turn, Ivo Sanader noted that Croatia expects Ukraine to shortly join the WTO. We are ready to support Ukraine as partners and friends, Mr Sanader noted. In his opinion, Ukraine's future is in the EU as Ukraine is a European nation.
