As the Verkhovna Rada press service informed on Monday, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Vladimir Litvin and his Croatian counterpart Vladimir Seks reached an agreement on signing a joint Declaration on Cooperation between the Parliaments of Ukraine and Croatia.

According to Vladimir Litvin , his meeting with the Croatian Parliament Speaker, which was held within the framework of Litvin's official visit to Croatia, dealt with matters of bipartite cooperation.

In the Speaker's opinion, Croatia's experience is of great interest to Ukraine, in particular, with regard to solving societal problems and pursuing foreign policies.

As Vladimir Seks noted, Litvin's visit to Croatia is a continuation of the two Parliaments' successful and productive cooperation.

Ukraine and Croatia have broad prospects for joint work, he noted.

Mr Seks stated Croatia's strategic goal as joining the EU.

As Litvin put in, Ukraine and Croatia have very similar goals, cherish common societal values and are transiting to democratic models of social and political order.

The parties agreed on joining efforts and likely establishment of mixed interparliamentary bodies for European integration, in particular, for adjusting the two nations' legislation to EU standards.
