The growth in the minimal wage and the minimum of subsistence has been envisaged in the draft f.y. 2006 national budget, acting Minister for Labor and Social Policies Viacheslav Kyrylenko told mediapeople in Kyiv on Thursday.

The draft national budget 2006 provides for three stages of the rise in minimal wages: since January 1 up to 350 hryvnias, since July 1 up to 360 hryvnias and since December 1 up to 400 UAH. The minimum of subsistence for able-bodied people will reach 505 hryvnia through 2006's close. The acting Minister stressed that the draft national budget for 2006 contains certain moves to promote entrepreneurship, for instance, the load on the remuneration fund will be reduced by two percent, which will eventually result in huge sums.

According to Viacheslav Kyrylenko, the veterans won't be deprived of their privileges. He, thus, denied information by the opposition forces in the Parliament that the privileges are deleted in the 2006 draft budget. "Such rumors aim at misinforming the society, destabilizing the political situation and failing the budget", Mr Kyrylenko added.
