
Acting Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk met with Bulgarian Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Ivailo Kalfin in New York, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's spokesman Vasyl Filipchuk informed.
The parties to the talk mainly spoke about the development of bilateral political and trade - economic relations. The sides discussed the work of mixed Ukrainian - Bulgarian commissions and agreed on further ways to step up their activities. Messrs Tarasyuk and Kalfin agreed upon the need to strengthen field cooperation between the two states through facilitating direct contacts between the Ukrainian and Bulgarian authorities.
The two Ministers exchanged their opinions with regard to prospects for cooperation in European and Euro - Atlantic integration. The parties agreed to draft and to shortly sign a bipartite memorandum on cooperation in the European and European - Atlantic integration.
By way of exchanging their opinions on international developments, the Bulgarian side showed a particular interest to the GUAM. Mr Tarasyuk briefed his counterpart about the outcomes of the 10th session of the GUAM Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the GUAM - USA meeting, as well as about the work, aimed at establishing the association's institutions.
