Minister of Agricultural Policy, Alexander Baranivskii informs that 124 thousand tons of imported and refined raw sugar will be kept in the State reserve or sold abroad.

He said he talked to the President about this on August, 17 in Sorochintsy. The Ukrainian Minister noticed that Victor Yushchenko promised to take measures about the further fate of the raw sugar.

The Minister also said that for the time being our plants processed about 7,1 thousand tons of the raw sugar. About 351 tons of the raw sugar was delivered to the distributive net work of various regions.

More of that Baranivskii reminded of the necessity to prevent the next commercial manufacture of the raw sugar as this will cause the global meltdown of the market in September. Taking into consideration the beet harvest of 2005 and the remnants of sugar from the last year, there will be the excess of sugar of about 650 thousand tons.
