Speaking at a news conference at the Tokyo Journalist Club Friday, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, who is currently on an official visit to Japan, invited Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi to visit Ukraine.

"In order to build dynamic Ukrainian-Japanese relations we needed to create a government entity that would coordinate our efforts and foster an atmosphere of mutual trust," he said, RIA Novosty reported.

Accordingly, both leaders decided to form a joint committee to develop a concept and plans for the development of bilateral relations in various spheres in the near future.

The first meeting of the committee is scheduled to take place during the visit of the Japanese prime minister to Ukraine.

Besides, today Viktor Yushchenko is to meet Emperor Akihito and his wife Michiko. Yushchenko will also attend the exhibition "Expo-2005" in Nagoya.
