Viktor Yushchenko, President of Ukraine has arrived in Japan with official five-day visit.

Presidential “IL62” landed in Haneda Airport. The national flags were hoisted there.   

Yuri Kostenko, Ukrainian Ambassador in Japan, Kishiro Amae, Japanese Ambassador in Ukraine and his wife, Itiro Komatsu, the Head of European Department of Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Japan and other authorities met President of Ukraine.

Then Viktor Yushchenko went to Tokyo where he is planned to give interview to TBS.

President of Ukraine is to visit Tamagawa University researching and genetic laboratories. Especially President's attention will be focused on the Institute of Beekeeping of Tamagawa.   

On Thursday, Yushchenko will attend Tokyo Stock Exchange. He will be given an opportunity to watch online morning auctions. He is to meet Tokyo Tsurushima, President of Tokyo Stock Exchange and authorities of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (the President and Senior Executive Director). After the meeting the Memorandum on Mutual Understanding will be signed by Ukreximbank (Ukrainian Export Import Bank) and JBIC.

H. Yanagisawa, the Head of Parliamentary Association of Ukraine-Japan Friendship will give a lunch in honor of President of Ukraine. Then Viktor Yushchenko will attend the Museum of Constitutional Law and meet Tamisuke Watanuke, former Speaker of the House of Representatives. Viktor Yushchenko will give the lecture "New Ukraine and Its Place in the World."      

Viktor Yushchenko will give interview to NHK TV Company. The next scheduled event will be the meeting of President of Ukraine with Japan PM Dzunitiro Koidzumi. Ukraine-Japan agreements will be signed after that meeting. Especially, bilateral protocol on market access and joint statement on new partnership in XXI century between two countries will be completed.

On Friday's morning, President of Ukraine will conduct meeting with Harumiti Iwasaki, Executive Director of Japan National Press Club and give the press conference.

The same day, President of Ukraine is to meet Japan Emperor Akihito and His Wife Michiko. Then he is to attend International Exhibition “Expo-2005” in Nagoya.

President of Ukraine will be back in Kiev on July 25.

This is the first visit of Viktor Yushchenko as President of Ukraine in Japan.
