The authorities of Transdnestria (Moldova) called Ukraine to bring peacemakers into the region, as reported by the President of unrecognized republic, Igor Smirnov.

According to Smirnov, the full-scale participation of Ukraine in peacemaking operation is provided by the Odessa agreements of 1998.

Transdnestrian leader supposes that bringing of Ukrainian peacemaking troops into the region is needed "for consolidation of the stable situation, which exists thanks to the work of joint peacemaking forces."

Presently, joint peacemaking forces include military contingents of Russia, Moldova and Transdnestrian region. Ukraine is represented only as a group of military observers - ten officials in number.
