Ukrainians living abroad should register in the Consulate for the participating in parliamentary elections-2006, Dmitry Svistkov, deputy chief of Ministry Foreign Affairs press service reported.
"We address to all citizen of Ukraine constantly or for a long time living abroad to register in the Consulate of Ukraine situated in your neighborhood and to inform the Consular about possible change of the place of living," stated Svistkov.
He mentioned that it is necessary for proper compilation of electoral roll and estimation of real quantity of Ukrainians having right to vote abroad. It is important for the proper protection of rights of Ukrainian citizens in case of emergency situations.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs charged the ambassadors and consuls abroad with information campaign concerning the elections. It became necessary because of changing of the Act of Ukraine "On the parliamentary elections."
Ukraine opened a consulate in Vladivostok that is why Ukrainians there do not need to go to Moscow in order to vote.
According to Svistkov's words, the additional consulates were open in Republic of Portugal, Spain and France.
