The President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko demanded to follow the law about the state language from senior officials of Ministry of Internal Affairs and to use only the Ukrainian language in their work.
"You are state officials; the state pays you for serving it. You are legalists and must follow the law about the language, which reads that a state official must speak the Ukrainian language, at least broken Ukrainian," said Yushchenko during the broadened session of Ministry’s of Internal Affairs high officials on Monday in Kiev.
"I ask you to pay attention to this during communication with people," added the President.
