The Agreement was signed by mayors of 50 cities in San Francisco. Daniel Karabayev, the representative of standing commission of Kiev City Council on Ecological Policy.
"Using the Agreement, we aim to provide for the right on clear environment of all members of our society," states the agreement.
The agreement is designed till 2012 and provides for reduction of waste, city-planning, transport pollution, environmental protection and purity of water.
As an example was taken the usage of water: if it exceeds 100 l per person for the day, the policy of reduction by 10% till 2015.
We remind that Kiev City Council decided to improve the ecological situation in the city to 2007.
Kiev Department of Environmental Protection has begun to for the regional ecological network.
