Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the President of Iran held talks with Secretary of Petro Poroshenko, the head of Ukrainian National Security Council on ways to develop cooperation in the field of oil, gas and airspace industry, IRNA reported.

Ahmadinejad said that Tehran-Kiev relations have been on a growing trend in the past several years and hoped that capacity for developing bilateral, regional and international cooperation would be explored in political, economic, cultural and security areas.

He said that Iran attaches importance to deepen cooperation in oil and gas sector and airspace industry.

"Manufacturing Iran 140s airplanes in cooperation with Ukraine has been a good start for bilateral cooperation in airspace industry," Ahmadinejad said.

He said that Iran and Ukraine have launched extensive investment in oil and gas sector and Iran is ready to proceed with such cooperation.

Ahmadinejad said that Iran is keen on developing relations with all the nations and governments and cooperation with the regional states for peace and stability of the world community.

Poroshenko handed over a message from Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko to Iranian president-elect felicitating his election and called for upgrading cooperation in all areas.

He said that the two countries have developed cooperation in oil and gas sector and that Ukraine will import 150 billion cubic meters of Iranian gas annually.
