Armenian culture days were held in Kamenets-Podolsk Ukrainian city the other day. The Union of Armenians of Ukraine and the Armenian Embassy supported the event, reported the MFA of Armenia. The Kamenets-Podolsk Mayor and Armenian Ambassador to Ukraine Armen Khachatryan addressed the opening ceremony,  panArmenia reported.

Armenian artists living in Ukraine demonstrated their works, as well as Hayrenik (Fatherland) dance ensemble of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine. A Khachkar (stone cross) is erected in Kamenets-Podolsk to commemorate the victims of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey in 1915. Leader of the Ukrainian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Gregoris Buniatyan sanctified the monument.

As a token of gratitude the Kamenets-Podolsk authorities have decided to give a location, where there once had been an old Armenian cathedral that was demolished by the Soviet authorities, to the Armenian community for building a new temple. In the course of his visit to Kamenets-Podolsk Armenian Ambassador to Ukraine Armen Khachatryan met with heads of the city and regional administrations, as well as leaders of the Armenian community of Ukraine and discussed matters of development of Armenian-Ukrainian relations with them.

Taking into account the large number of churches, cultural and spiritual value monuments in the city, the Armenian Ambassador and Kamenets-Podolsk authorities arranged for Kamenets-Podolsk and Echmiadzin (Armenia) to become twin cities.
