The solemn ceremony on the occasion of the Day of Journalist took place today in Kiev.
The prime minister of Ukraine, Julia Timoshenko greeted all journalists with their professional holiday. She charged the vice-minister Nickolay Tomenko with the formation of a joint team of journalists and the power to develop and secure liberty of speech in Ukraine.
Timoshenko called journalists to cover the situation in Ukraine independently and unrestrictedly.
"If criticism against the power, caricatures and jokes disappear, it will mean that something happens in the society," underlined the head of the government.
