The ex-prime minister of Ukraine Victor Yanukovich did not come for an interrogation to the Kiev Department for Combating Organized Crime to give explanations on the criminal case, which was brought on the fact of the illegal allocation of 4.8 million hryvnias from the State Budget of Ukraine on the instruction of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 17 June, 2004, to state-owned enterprise "Donetsk" international airport.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, chief of the department Valeriy Heletey has claimed this to journalists, who were waiting for the arrival of V.Yanukovych near the building of the Kiev Department for Combating Organized Crime.

According to him, Yanukovich did not come to the interrogation, and investigators have no information why.

Heletey has noted that the department is waiting for the explanations of the ex-Prime Minister, and if it turns out that he could not be present at the interrogation due to serious reasons, he will be summoned again. However, if it turns out that Yanukovich deliberately ignored the interrogation, the policy will act in line with the legislation, in particular, article 136 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine allows policemen to convey a person to the interrogation.

In response to this question, the press-service of Yanukovich reported that "Victor Yanukovich did not receive any official notices and calls for interrogation to Kiev Department for Combating Organized Crime", that is why he did not come to the Department.
