The heavy-weight ex-champion of WBO, Vladimir Klichko, appealed to court of New-Jersey with the request to oblige International Box Federation (IBF) to name him the pretender to the champion fight with Chris Berd.

Klichko-junior motivates his decision by the IBF rules, according to which the champion must conduct the obligatory defence of the title against the boxer, who takes the highest place in the rating.

Vladimir takes the third place in the IBF rating. The Americans Monte Barrett and Hasim Rahman, who take more high places, will fight for the temporary champion title of WBC. Consequently, they can not pretender to the fight with Berd.

Vladimir Klichko does not want to appeal to IBF instances, because he will be obliged to pay ten thousand dollars. Such a sum is levied on each boxer, who appeals to the rating committee.
