Yesterday MIGnews.com.ua got to know from the informational sources in the law-enforcement authorities that today a criminal action has been brought against Victor Yanukovich, ex-prime minister of Ukraine. Victor Yanukovich is accused of using the reserve fund of Cabinet of Ministers for awarding the Olympians.
New details came to light today. Thus the press-service of General Office of Public Prosecutor informed that there was no separate action brought against Victor Yanukovich, but against the whole group, which included the leader of Party of Regions. Criminal Code of Ukraine implies that any illegal action done in groups is regarded as aggravating circumstances.
In response to the accusations Yanukovich said that Cabinet of Ministers adopted a sound decision and the Olympians should be supported. "As for the money from the reserve fund, there is nothing to comment as we never know how many medals shall be won and how many sportsmen shall be awarded. That is what a reserve fund exists for," he noted.
