Today is not the best moment to speak about EU membership for Ukraine, said the president of Ukraine, Victor Yushchenko during today’s press-conference in Kiev.

"In fact, it is needed to answer the norms and standards of European policy. It is needed to pass about 350 laws," said Yushchenko, pointing out that all these are the tasks of the new parliament, which will be elected in 2006, "Interfax-Ukraine" reported.

According to the president, in 2005 Ukraine must realize a row of aims, in particular, "to get the status of market economy country and WTO membership, to simplify visa control, to solve the question of Ukrainian-Moldavian border."

"After realization of three-year plan of Ukraine-EU actions we will negotiate about EU membership," said Yushchenko.
