Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia should abstain from submitting their applications to join EU in order to avoid refusal, the Commissar of European commission on foreign relations and policy of European neighborhood, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, said, MIGnews.com.ua reported.
During "orange revolution" people demonstrated that they share our (EU – ed.) value. Though, now one should become realistic. Take economy into account: a lot should be changed in this respect," she considers.
"This is a large country, important country, though they should change it and they are well aware of this", - Benita Ferrero-Waldner stated. According to her, the analogous advice to postpone the claim of EU joining should be also given to other former Soviet republics - Moldova and Georgia.
