The minister of economy, Sergey Terekhin, has informed that the Russian government disagrees with the Ukraine’s proposals concerning establishment of the free-trade zone without exceptions and restrictions within the Single Economic Area (SEA), MIGnews.com.ua informed.

According to him, such a position was made public by the Russian side during the visit of the Ukrainian taskforce to Moscow within the preparation of SEA member-countries’ presidents: "Today, Russia disagrees with the Ukraine’s concept".

In particular, Terekhin has underlined that the Russian government motivates its position by the fact that the establishment of the free-trade zone should be considered as one of the stages within much closer integration of SEA member-countries, "up to introduction of the sole currency ".

Recently Mr. Terekhin confirmed the Ukraine’s interest in SEA participation along with Russia, Byelorussia and Kazakhstan. Meanwhile, the minister has pointed out that Ukraine regards its membership in SEA only within the free-trade zone establishment. On 24 January Mr. Yushchenko stated that Ukraine wished to preserve its right of integration in other markets over SEA formation.
