Today, April 19, the president of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko will conduct a meeting on which the questions about work of law machinery and necessity to reform judicial system will be discussed, the perss-service of the president reported.

The general prosecutor, Svyatoslav Piskun, the chairman of Supreme Court, Vasily Malyarenko, the minister of internal affairs, Yurii Lucenko, the head of State Department charged with sentence execution questions, Vasily Koshchinets, the head of Security Service of Ukraine, Alexander Turchinov, the minister of Justice, Roman Zvarich, and authorized person charged with human rights, Nina Karpacheva will take part in the meeting.

The president’s decision to convoke the meeting is caused by increasing of quantity of citizens’ claims .

Yushchenko declared that every forth letter to the Secretariat is concerned problems in law-enforcement bodies. People complain of judicial red tape, violation of human rights, police misconduct.

"Every day I talk to tens of citizens, who come to Secretariat and appeal to the president as to the last hope. Thus, we need to conduct a serious analysis of law machinery work," pointed out Yushchenko.
