Speaking inVerhovna Rada, minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Yurii Lucenko underlined that Kolesnikov is only a suspect, ForUm's correspondent informed.

Lucenko also admitted that according to the article 106 of Criminal- processual Code of Ukraine, the investigator has a right to detain Kolesnikov for 72 hours without court decision. “If the investigator decided to detain Kolesnikov for more than 72 hours, he would appeal to the court, which either would prolong Kolesnikov’s arrest or deny the investigator’s query. And it does not mean that Kolesnikov will be released by the deputies’ order. Only a court can make such decisions. According to the law, the investigator carries out an investigation independently, and neither minister of internal affairs nor deputies can interfere in this case”, - Lucenko said.
