Representatives of the Ukrainian Diaspora in Chicago wait for arrival of the president Victor Yushchenko’s wife Ekaterina.
Arrival of Ekaterina Chumachenko in Chicago is treated as a home-coming by Ukrainian community, which includes 100 thousand members.
Chumachenko was born in Chicago, graduated Georgetown University and got master's degree on speciality business-administration in Chicago University. She worked in White house of Reagan in the office of public relations.
Shops in the Ukrainian quarters of Chicago are filled by the pictures of Yushchenko and Chumachenko, yellow-blue flags flow away in the streets.
"The wife of the president of such large country arrives in Chicago not every day", - John Oharenko, the leader of community, noticed.
Chumachenko considers her arrival a celebration of Yushchenko’s victory in dramatic elections: "I will come back after a very solemn period in our life. We have got through difficult times. Now we have time to enjoy the result".
