The ex-major of state security Nickolay Melnichenko plans to meet with the president of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko during the visit of the Ukrainian country's leader to the USA.
A high-ranking informed source reported about it to the agency "Interfax-Ukraine".
According to him, it is planned to discuss issues, related to the records which were done by the ex-major in the cabinet of the president Leonid Kuchma, motion of investigation of the case of the journalist’s George Gongadze murder, and also the question of the real guarantees which can be given Melnichenko in the case of his returning to Ukraine. "According to result of these negotiations Melnichenko will make decision about returning to Ukraine", - a source underlined.
Besides, according to him, there is also an active preparation of meeting between Yushchenko and the president of the USA George Bush, during which, in addition, the question of contraband of cruise missiles will be discussed.
