The president of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko declared that detecting of Gongadze’s murder is the "triumph of law supremacy…triumph of civil position of many people who were waiting for this for years".
Also the president addressed to those people "who worked so effectively last weeks". In particular, Yushchenko thanked the officials of Office of Public Prosecutor and especially General public prosecutor Sviatoslav Piskun, who personally conducted inquest of certain people. Also Yushchenko thanked Security Service of Ukraine for operative actions, Ministry of Internal Affairs for "real people of honour". "I am, as citizen and as president, proud of that so many honest men persisted in these ranks. And I want to applaud them", - Yushchenko said.

Yushchenko declared also, that he made a decision to found National bureau of investigations, which would be engaged in exceptionally resonance cases, such as murder of Gongadze, Getman, Alexandrov, and also corruption.
