Over seven thousand Kyiv heat consumers (including houses, social sphere facilities) could be left without heating and hot water supplies in the coming first autumn frosts due to the fact that Kyivtransgaz cut gas pressure for combined heat and power plant five and combined heat and power plant six, the press service of public joint-stock company Kyivenergo reported.

"On Thursday, October 3, at 1400 the trunk gas pipelines department Kyivtransgaz under an order of national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy cut the gas pressure at combined heat and power plant five and combined heat and power plant six… At present, the gas pressure reduction did not affect the operation of the plants – the two plants continue operating… However, due to the expected fall in temperatures and frosts the required parameters of heat will not be observed in the future. Over seven thousand consumers will be left without hot water supply and heat," the company said, Interfax-Ukraine informed.

The gas pressure was reduced as Kyivenergo owed UAH 2.1 billion to Naftogaz Ukrainy for gas consumed. The company said that the debt is linked to the debts of the budget to compensate for the difference in the tariffs (UAH 1.588 billion) and debts of consumers for heat and power to Kyivenergo (UAH 2.263 billion).
