On Monday at joint press conference after session of Council of Defense Ministers of South-East European countries in Kyiv the head of NATO's Defense Planning and Operations Division George Katsirdakis stated that NATO would consider a question on Ukraine’s joining Plan of actions and on Ukraine’s accedence to NATO only after submission of official application, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.
“First of all we must listen to this wish to join Plan of actions officially on the level of council of NATO, then the alliance must make a decision by consensus,” he said. “We will make a decision as soon as we have official application<’ he added.
As a reminder, President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko called European countries to support Ukraine’s desire to join Plan of actions concerning membership in NATO.
