Victor Yushchenko and Yuri Polyachenko discussed ways to reform the public health system and finance necessary medical programs. The Minister said they were formulating programs to efficiently fight HIV/AIDS and TB and prevent cancer and heart diseases. (At the Second Meeting of General Practitioners the Head of State had said it was important to implement such programs).
Yushchenko and Polyachenko also agreed it was necessary to approve bills to develop medical insurance and computerize the branch. Then the President said it was incumbent on our doctors to render free first aid to the citizens of Ukraine, the President’s press office informed.
