Ukraine expects to receive ten licenses to participate in the XXII Olympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi, the NOC President Serhiy Bubka said during the signing of the document on Ukraine's participation in the Olympics, ForUm correspondent reports.

"We plan to win the licenses to compete in ten sports out of 15 possible. I would like to remind you that during the years of independence we have won only five medals at the Winter Olympics," he said.

According to Bubka, he is extremely satisfied with the success of our biathletes at the World Championship, held in the Czech Republic.

NOC President stressed that the main goal for our athletes is to get as many licenses as possible to see more surprises at the Olympic Games in Sochi.

In addition, Nina Umanets was again elected the chief of Ukrainian Olympic team mission.

XXII Winter Olympic Games will be held in Sochi on February 7 – 23, 2014. XI Paralympic Winter Games will be held on March 7 - 16.
