Grain exports are activating in Ukraine, agrarian policy and food minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk states.

"Severe frosts, which occurred in Ukraine in late January, complicated the work of the transport infrastructure of the grain market. Shipments of grain and its transportation slowed. However, as of today the work of domestic grain logistics resumed and runs normally. In February, Ukraine has already exported more than 640 thousands tons of grain. This is high rate," Prysiazhniuk said.

According to the minister, more than 22 million tons of grain were already supplied to foreign markets, which is 5.5 million tons more than last year.

The minister noted that these are record levels of exports for the current date. In addition, 1.3 million tons of grain are already in ports, ready for load on ships.

Prysiazhniuk also stressed that these rates correspond to preliminary estimates. Consequently, in the current marketing year, Ukraine will be able to ship overseas record 33 million tons of grain.
