Ukrainian government will make every effort to prevent the escalation of the conflict, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said at the meeting with Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon.
"We have managed to make some important steps in the process of peaceful settlement of the political crisis recently," President’s press office quotes Viktor Yanukovych.
Yanukovych expressed gratitude to Ban Ki-moon for his attention to Ukraine. The President says our state is attentive to the initiatives of the UN regarding the settlement of the political situation in Ukraine.
"I am grateful for your balanced and considered position and agree with calls for tolerance in order to avoid further tension and violence as well as hold constructive dialogue," the President stressed.
