In 2013, the number of Ukrainians earning less than a living wage decreased, first deputy head of the State Statistics Service Vadym Pishcheiko said during a briefing "Socioeconomic situation in Ukraine on the results of 2013," ForUm correspondent reports.

The press service of the State Statistics Service noted that the average monthly nominal salary of a regular employee for 2013 was 3265 UAH, which is 2.7 times higher than the minimum wage. Compared with 2012, wages increased by 7.9%.

In addition, the Service reported that the available income that can be used to buy goods and services in the third quarter of 2013 compared to the same period in 2012 increased by 1.6 % and amounted to 303.6 billion UAH. Real available income in the third quarter of 2013 increased by 1.9 % compared to the corresponding period in 2012.
