Welfare payments to orphans raised by 20%

The state budget for 2014 stipulates increase in welfare payments to families with disabled children, orphans and children deprived of parental care by 20%, social policy minister Natalia Korolevska told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Our offers were taken into account in the budget. Thus, welfare payments to families with disabled children and persons disabled since childhood were raised by 22% or nearly 9 billion UAH. Costs of care for orphans and children deprived of parental care were increased by 25.5% (124 million UAH).

The minister noted that the state budget provides for further financing payments introduced in 2013. In particular, the financial assistance is paid to care for children with disabilities group of "A" (16 thousand children), for disabled children under guardianship or care (1612 children) and to retired combatants, who turned 85 years old.
