Low air temperature and precipitation in form of snow will prevail in Ukraine during the current and early next week, director of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center Mykola Kulbida told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Heavy snowfalls, snow and strong winds are expected in central, southern and eastern regions during the current and early next week. In the north and west of Ukraine, rainfall intensity will be less, and it will be raining in Crimea and Zakarpattia region," he said.

The lowest air temperature is expected in the east and northeast. Minimum night temperature will be minus 20-25 degrees below zero. The warmest will be in Crimea and Zakarpattia region. There the thermometer will rise above zero. "For the rest of Ukraine air temperature will vary. Night temperature is expected at the level of 5-10 degrees below zero, sometimes - 10-15 degrees," the forecaster said.

Furthermore, the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center warns about wet snow and black ice on the roads, as well as possible convergence of avalanches in the Carpathians in Ivano- Frankivsk region.

However, the forecaster noted that such weather conditions are normal for January, and no extraordinary events not expected.
