On the eve of the official opening of the world's most prestigious agricultural exhibition "Green Week", the meeting of the official delegation of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the representatives of agricultural enterprises, professional associations and organizations of Germany was held in Berlin, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informs.
The main subject of the meeting was the advantages of bilateral Ukrainian agrarian/industrial sector for German investors.
The German farmers indicated that they were willing to expand partnership with Ukraine. However, doing business in Ukraine should be simplified for more effective co-operation. Taxation conditions and mechanisms for obtaining various permits and certificates should be facilitated.
Oleksandr Sen, Head of Ukrainian delegation noted that Germany was one of the main and most stable countries-investors for Ukraine. It currently ranks second among foreign investors in Ukraine with the total investments of 6.1 billion USD, of which over 40% goes to agricultural sector. This information is the evidence that agrarian sector of Ukraine with over 1,000 operating German companies is a priority for the German private capital.
As a result, in 2014 the industry will continue to be deregulated, and will take into account the wishes of German investors. In particular, these instruction were given to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.
Also, the parties discussed the crop rotation issues, genetically modified food, the VAT refund on grain exports, the moratorium on sale of agricultural land.
