21 January 2014, the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (in Minsk) will hold the first meeting this year of the Board of Permanent Representatives of CIS countries under the statutory and other bodies of the Commonwealth.

This year, since Ukraine has taken over presidency of the CIS Council of Permanent Representatives, Plenipotentiary Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the focal institutions of the Commonwealth of Independent States Ivan Bunechko will chair the meeting.

Chairman of Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev will participate in the meeting.

Bunechko will present colleagues the Concept of Ukraine's presidency in the CIS in 2014 and the Action Plan for its implementation. The preamble of the Concept notes that the Ukrainian Chairmanship of the Commonwealth will be aimed at ensuring the further advance of the Commonwealth of Independent States and strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation that meets the national interests of each member state. The document sets out the priorities of the foreign policy, economic, transport, energy, humanitarian, scientific, technological and innovation fields, as well as those of the fight against new challenges and threats, the report says.
