The law "On elimination of negative impacts and prevent the prosecution and punishment on the events that took place during the peaceful assembly" should be amended, justice minister Olena Lukash told a briefing at the Cabinet of Ministers, ForUm correspondent reports.
"The law of Ukraine "On elimination of negative impacts and prevent the prosecution and punishment on the events that took place during the peaceful assembly ", which is also called as the law on amnesty, is a political compromise and does not include any words about amnesty," Lukash said.
She noted that this law actually introduces new legal institution for national legislation that is not provided by either the Constitution or the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Lukash said that given into account the fact that each article of this law fully or partially contradicts the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure Code and the Law of Ukraine "On amnesty", the implementation of this law in practice is problematic.
"If you want to know why it happened, you should ask the authors of this bill," Lukash said.
According to her, in order to implement this law it is necessary to put the provisions into correspondence with other laws.
