Ukraine expects the foreign states and organizations to show restraint while assessing the events, associated with the issues of internal development.
This was discussed at the meeting of heads of Ukrainian public authorities with the heads of diplomatic missions of the EU, U.S. and Canada. The meeting participants discussed the events, which took place near Sviatoshynsky district court in Kyiv on January 10-11, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reports.
According to the report, the Ukrainian party at a meeting with the ambassadors was represented with foreign minister Leonid Kozhara, deputy interior minister Viktor Ratushniak, first deputy health minister Oleksandr Kachur, deputies Prosecutor General Viktor Voytsishen and Liliya Frolova, first deputy chief of the Security Service of Ukraine Volodymyr Totsky.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that the case of "Vasylkiv terrorists" has no relation to the mass events on Maidan Nezalezhnosti Square in Kyiv, but could be used as an excuse for provocation.
"Representatives of some political forces tried to block the trial and incite those present to attack the judges in the performance of their duties. Some MPs, hiding behind their status, were engaged in violent confrontation with security forces, blocked the courthouse and the roadway around it," the press service informs.
Ukraine expects that foreign states and organizations will refrain from supporting illegal actions, attempts to undermine national peace, and instead make a contribution to the stabilization of the situation in the country.
At the same time, the Government of Ukraine is ready to dialogue with international partners on these issues with the proviso that it will be held in a constructive spirit, in an atmosphere of openness and mutual respect.
