The African swine fever (ASF) was registered in Luhansk region. ASF has not been diagnosed in Ukraine since 2012, the press service of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine reports.
According to the Veterinary Service, the last case of African swine fever in Ukraine was registered in 2012 in Zaporizhya region.
According to the Main Department of Veterinary Medicine in Luhansk region, specialists of the State Border Service of Ukraine found dead wild boar in the river in Luhansk region on January 5, 2014.
On January 6, 2014, the laboratory diagnosis and veterinary-sanitary inspection determines African swine fever.
The situation is under constant control of the Main Department of Veterinary Medicine in Luhansk region and the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine.
